Kapp U-cart Concrete is a family owned & operated short haul concrete business. Kapp U-cart Concrete was started in 2000 by Gary, & Son Jacob Kapp.
We offer Cart-Away mixer trailer rentals that can haul anywhere from 1/4 yard to 2 yards of concrete. We have happily been serving the areas of Weber and Davis County for over 20 years.
Our plant is calibrated weekly by our expert "concrete guru". Our years of experience show in the quality of our concrete. It is of utmost importance to us that your project turns out well, and we strive to provide the best service around.
READY-MIX SHORT LOAD CONCRETE
WE OFFER SHORT LOAD READY-MIX CONCRETE MIXER TRAILER RENTALS.
OUR TRAILERS ARE RENTED ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS.
WE CURRENTLY HAVE 7 TRAILERS HOLDING UP TO 1.25 YARDS, AND 4 TRAILERS HOLDING UP TO 2 YARDS.
HOW IT WORKS
MIXER TRAILERS
We offer cart-away short load mixer trailer rentals with purchase of concrete. To pull our trailers you will need a 2 5/16th" ball hitch, and 1/2 ton to 1 full ton vehicle towing capacity. Trailers are rented on a 2 hour time limit. Late return fees are applied if you exceed this timeframe.
TOW TO JOBSITE
Once your concrete is batched you will tow the trailer to your jobsite and pour your concrete. Please be aware that our trailers cannot be taken on the interstate and should not be driven over 40MPH. This is to prevent concrete spills in the middle of our roadways, caused by taking off too fast.
CONCRETE
Our concrete batch plant is calibrated on a weekly basis. Our trailers hold amounts from 1/4 yard to 2 yards of concrete. We will slump the load dependent on the distance you are traveling. This will give you the best pour when arriving to your jobsite.
RETURN THE TRAILER
When finished pouring, you will bring the trailer back to our facility. We ask that the barrel of the mixer is washed out before returning. If this is not done, we will assess a $100.00 cleaning fee. If concrete hardens, it requires extensive amounts of labor to hammer out of the barrels. After parking the trailer, we will take payment and send you on your way!

PREPARE FOR YOUR PROJECT
- Most importantly, measure the area you wish to pour the concrete!! - - The formula for concrete is width x length x depth, divided by 27. - When calculating use decimal points instead of fractions.
Example: 1/4 =0.25.
- Ensure you have your subbase and forms ready to be poured into before pickup.
BEFORE YOU POUR
FORMS
Most commonly used are 2x4 planks with stakes placed every 18 inches.
1. Lay out the corner position of the slab. Use your stakes and twine. Run along edge to each corner.
2. Measure Diagonally from corner to corner. Ensure that all measurements are equal.
3. Place formboard at corner and alongside your twine. Stake so 1/8" is above your twine. Be sure to stake deeply enough for the form to have the strength to hold your concrete.
PREPARE THE AREA
Compact the material you have chosen as your subbase. (We most commonly use gravel.) You will want about 4-6" of subbase, in some cases you may need more.
THINGS TO KNOW
- Concrete should be left to cure for 28 days.
- Applying a sealant to the concrete will protect the material, and keep it looking nice for longer.
- We will be offering sealant for purchase with concrete in the near future.
POURING & FINISHING
1. Wet down the subbase in your formed area with a hose.
2. Pour concrete out of the U-cart Trailer. In some cases you may need to pour into a wheelbarrow, and then dump the wheelbarrow. Spread the concrete with a square shovel or rake during this step to fill the form evenly.
3. Use a 2x4 screed board to level. Move back and forth and move from each end. You will need to work quickly to finish before concrete sets.
4. Use a bull float to compact the concrete and allow gravel free concrete to come to the surface. Move away from you and back toward you while keeping the tailing end slightly elevated.
5. Take a hand float to the surface using sweeping motions after water bleeds to the surface.
6. Use an edger and move it along the edge of your form. This will ensure clean edges when your form is removed.
7. Sweep a soft bristled brush across the surface once it can hold your weight. This will add design and traction to your concrete.

POURING CONCRETE SAFELY
Wet concrete has a high ph. This can cause chemical burns. View our safety tips below.
- Rinse skin after contact with concrete with warm water and soap.
- Wear protective safety googles. If wet concrete gets in your eyes it can cause burns.
- Wear alkali resistant gloves. They resist chemical reactions to alkali materials.
- Wear a long sleeved shirt and pants. If concrete gets on your skin, it may cause a chemical burn.
- If inhaled dry concrete can cause damage and irritation to the lungs.
